Geneva and Edgewood are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2019, but not for long. The Geneva Eagles will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Edgewood Warriors at 6:45 p.m. Geneva will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak.
Last Tuesday, Geneva was able to grind out a solid victory over Jefferson Area, taking the game 56-48. Given Geneva's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 188th, while Jefferson Area is ranked 391st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, even though Harvey scored an imposing 81 points on Friday, Edgewood still came out on top. Edgewood had just enough and edged Harvey out 83-81. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory Edgewood has posted yet this season.
Geneva pushed their record up to 11-2 with that victory, which was their sixth straight on the road. As for Edgewood, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season.
Geneva came out on top in a nail-biter against Edgewood when the teams last played back in December of 2023, sneaking past 70-68. Will Geneva repeat their success, or does Edgewood have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
