This season hasn't been kind to the Cumberland Academy of Georgia Cyclones, who are still winless after their seventh match. They took a serious blow against Howard on Wednesday, falling 69-40. If Cumberland Academy of Georgia hoped to take revenge for the 63-37 defeat against they when the teams met, then they were left disappointed.
Howard got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Michael Davis out in front who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds. That's the first time this season that Davis scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Keegan Roberts, who scored 11 points along with five assists and three steals.
Cumberland Academy of Georgia's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Howard, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-4 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cumberland Academy of Georgia will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Mill Springs Academy at 6:00 p.m. on February 6th. As for Howard, they will head out on the road to challenge Atlanta Area School for the Deaf at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
