After a string of four wins, the West Milford Highlanders's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They were the victim of a tough 66-45 defeat at the hands of Wayne Valley. West Milford has not had much luck with Wayne Valley recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.
Omar Ali was his usual excellent self, scoring 25 points along with five rebounds and three steals for Wayne Valley. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Ali has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Anthony Apicella, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
West Milford's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-11. As for Wayne Valley, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season.
West Milford will head out on the road to challenge Fair Lawn at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. West Milford is facing Fair Lawn at the right time seeing as Fair Lawn is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Wayne Valley, they will be playing at home against Wayne Hills at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Wayne Valley knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past seven matches -- so hopefully Wayne Hills likes a good challenge.
