The Northview Wildcats will head out on the road to face off against the West Catholic Falcons at 4:15 p.m. on Monday.
East Kentwood hit Northview with a four-run fourth inning on Saturday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Wildcats came up short against the Falcons, falling 12-4. The Wildcats haven't had much luck with the Falcons recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.
Meanwhile, West Catholic got the win against Comstock Park on Thursday by a conclusive 19-4. With that win, the Falcons brought their scoring average up to 7.1 runs per game.
Harper Perry was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Perry was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs.
In other batting news, West Catholic got a massive performance out of Isabella Perez, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base. Those three runs gave Perez a new career-high. Danika Nielsen was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, two RBI, and one double.
West Catholic was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .652. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in three consecutive contests.
Northview's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for West Catholic, their record now sits at 2-6.
Northview came up short against West Catholic when the teams last played back in May of 2025, falling 7-4. Can the Wildcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
