The Perkins Pirates will square off against the Benedictine Bengals at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Perkins comes in on four and Benedictine on five.
Perkins is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Upper Sandusky, sneaking past 10-8. Perkins' victory was all the more impressive since the Rams were averaging only 3.43 runs allowed on the season.

Kash Koch and Braxden Martin were major factors while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Koch pitched six innings while giving up four earned (and three unearned) runs off eight hits. Meanwhile, Martin tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances. At the plate, Koch went 4-for-5 with three runs and one double, while Martin got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Those four hits gave Koch a new career-high.
In other batting news, Blake Parker was incredible, going 3-for-5 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Quentin Binette, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI and one double.
Perkins kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Upper Sandusky only managed nine hits.
Meanwhile, while Benedictine put up some runs on Wednesday, the same can't be said for Napoleon. The Bengals came out on top against the Wildcats by a score of 3-0. That's two games straight that the Bengals have won by exactly three runs.
The result came thanks to Robert Scoville's shutout, as he gave up just five hits.
On the hitting side, Benedictine's win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Shepard Charlton, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI.
Benedictine's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-11. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.5 runs on average over those games. As for Perkins, their victory bumped their record up to 21-9.
