The Owyhee Storm will face off against the Kuna Kavemen at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Owyhee is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.9 runs per game this season.
Owyhee barely beat Borah the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Storm's pitcher stepped up to hand the Lions an 11-0 shutout on Friday. The Storm haven't had any issues with the Lions recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.
Owyhee got a great performance from Kaleb Doty as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over five innings pitched. Doty has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than one walk any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Gage Haws and Cade Walker did most of the damage at the plate: Haws went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and one double, while Walker went 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave Walker a new career-high. Jack Hallenbeck was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.
Owyhee was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .444. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Borah only posted a batting average of .118.
Meanwhile, Kuna suffered their closest defeat since May 2, 2024 on Thursday. They fell just short of Eagle by a score of 6-4. The Kavemen have struggled against the Mustangs recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.
Kuna also got a good showing from Kaleb Olsen, who tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.
On the hitting side, Jackson Edwards made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Carson Hindle, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double.
Owyhee's win bumped their record up to 18-1. As for Kuna, their loss dropped their record down to 11-9.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Saturday as neither team is afraid to steal. Owyhee has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.2 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Kuna struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 2.9 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Owyhee was able to grind out a solid victory over Kuna in their previous matchup back in March, winning 7-3. Do the Storm have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Kavemen turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
