Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lakeland Christian Academy). They walked away with a 54-44 victory over the Trinity Greenlawn Titans on Saturday. The win was some much needed relief for the Cougars as it spelled an end to their eight-game losing streak.
Micah Martin was his usual excellent self, putting up 21 points. That's the most points he has posted since back in February of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Josiah Rice, who posted 12 points.
Several Titans players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Nathan Palmer, who went 6 for 12 en route to 16 points. Palmer is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Josh Heintzelman, who put up 11 points and six rebounds.
Lakeland Christian Academy's victory ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-10. As for Trinity Greenlawn, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 9-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lakeland Christian Academy will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Argos at 7:30 p.m. on January 31st. Trinity Greenlawn has already played their next game (against Elkhart Christian Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
