Kyler Storey and Raegan Johnson made a big impact no matter where they played. Throwing, Storey pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Johnson tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Storey has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in ten consecutive appearances. At bat, Storey went a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI, while Johnson went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. That's the most hits Storey has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Rylie McInturf, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run, two stolen bases, and five RBI. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayse Long, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one triple.
Las Plumas hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in 28 consecutive matchups dating back to last season.
Las Plumas' record is now 24-1-1. As for Orland, their loss dropped their record down to 4-14.
Orland might still be hurting after the 23-1 defeat they got from Las Plumas in their previous matchup back in April. Can the Trojans avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
