The Stanwood Spartans''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They and Mountlake Terrace were almost perfectly matched up, but Stanwood suffered an agonizing 7-6 defeat. Stanwood was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Mountlake Terrace apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2015.
Zaveon Jones got back to being his usual excellent self, as he rushed for 139 yards and a touchdown. Jones is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last nine games he's played.
Stanwood's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Mountlake Terrace, their win bumped their record up to 6-3.
Stanwood is on the road again on Friday and play against Meadowdale at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd. Mountlake Terrace does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
