Summer Creek is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They breezed past Manvel to the tune of 72-35. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 13th, while the Mavericks are ranked 277th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

A big part of Summer Creek's victory came down to the chemistry between Noah Spinks and his top target Benny Easter Jr.. Spinks threw for 457 yards and eight TDs while picking up 19.9 yards per attempt while Easter Jr. picked up 252 receiving yards and five scores. Thanks to that big game, Spinks is now up to 38 passing touchdowns on the season. Jamicah Jones did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 104 receiving yards.
Summer Creek didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as William Wilson, Savion James, and Colin Alexander picked up one apiece. James has been hot recently, having also posted at least one defended passe the last three times he's played. Brinley Tita was another major factor on D, picking up a sack and making nine total tackles.
Meanwhile, a well-balanced attack led Katy over Memorial in every quarter on their way to victory on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Tigers blew the Mustangs out of the water with a 48-7 final score. Considering the Tigers have won ten matchups by more than 19 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Summer Creek better keep an eye on Tremayne Hill. He was instrumental in Katy's win, rushing for 169 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 9.4 yards per carry. Tony Manuel was another major influence, as he rushed for 68 yards and ran in a TD.
Katy was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 342 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Memorial only rushed for 81.
Summer Creek's record now sits at 11-1. As for Katy, their record is now 10-2.
Summer Creek took a serious blow against Katy in their previous meeting back in November of 2022, falling 35-7. Thankfully for the Bulldogs, Seth Davis (who rushed for 224 yards and a pair of scores while picking up 8.6 yards per carry) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
