The Odem Owls and the Lexington Eagles squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but sadly the Odem Owls had to settle for second. They had to suffer through a rough 48-7 loss at the hands of the Eagles. Odem's defeat signaled the end of their seven-game winning streak.
Josh Chavira threw for 232 yards on 17 of 25 attempts. Aidan Lozano was his top target, picking up 78 receiving yards. On the ground, Adam Romero rushed for 44 yards.
Lexington's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Mason Biehle, who picked up 141 receiving yards and two touchdowns, and also punched in two touchdowns on the ground. Biehle's longest reception was for an incredible 82 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Kase Evans, who threw for 325 yards and three touchdowns while completing 82.6% of his passes.
Odem's loss dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Lexington, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season.
Odem does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Lexington will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Poth at 6:30 p.m. on November 24th. Poth is on a five-game streak of home wins, Lexington a four-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the field.
