Baseball Recap: Beavercreek's Winning Streak Snapped at Five Games

Beavercreek dropped their record down to 12-2 on Friday, which also ended the team's five-game streak of wins. They came up short against the Fairmont Firebirds, falling 7-0. The matchup marked the first time this year in which the Beavers were not able to get on the board.

As for Fairmont, their victory bumped their record up to 10-7. They not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since April 9th (when they won 12-1).

For Fairmont's part, not much got past Brayden Vance, who gave up just two hits and racked up ten Ks to keep Beavercreek off the board.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Tyler Mastro, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since April 3rd. Schyler Zent was another key player, going 1-for-2 with three RBI.

Beavercreek and Fairmont should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings. The Beavers will take on Springboro at 5:00 p.m. on Monday with a big rank advantage (13 vs. 65). The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Beavercreek 2.8, the Panthers 3.5) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Fairmont (ranked 99th) will meet Northmont (ranked 365th) at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
