The Richmond Red Devils put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 40-32 victory over Muncie Central. Despite the victory, that was the fewest points Richmond has scored all year.
It was another big night for Cedric Horton, who scored 18 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Richmond's points.
Richmond's victory was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 15-0. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.0 points per game. As for Muncie Central, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-8.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Richmond won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Madison at 7:30 p.m. on January 13th. Hopefully Madison focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 last Saturday. As for Muncie Central, they will head out on the road to face off against Kokomo at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Kokomo knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 15 games -- so hopefully Muncie Central likes a good challenge.
