Queen's Grant is a perfect 6-0 against Monroe since March of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Queen's Grant Stallions will be playing at home against the Monroe Redhawks at 4:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Queen's Grant has ten straight wins, Monroe has eight straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
If Queen's Grant beats Monroe with 13 runs on Monday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two games with that exact score. Queen's Grant's pitcher stepped up to hand Langtree Charter Academy a 13-0 shutout on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Stallions, who have now won eight contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Addi Benton made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 14 over five innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.
In other batting news, Saniya Williams was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Abby Sanders was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-1.
Queen's Grant kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Langtree Charter Academy only managed one hit.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 17 runs the game before, Monroe was a bit more limited in their match on Thursday. They came up short against Forest Hills, falling 17-2.
Queen's Grant pushed their record up to 10-0 with the victory, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Monroe, their loss dropped their record down to 1-8.
Monroe's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Monday. Queen's Grant has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9.8 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Monroe, though, as they've been averaging only 1.4 strikeouts. Will Queen's Grant keep running through batters, or will Monroe buck the trend?
Everything went Queen's Grant's way against Monroe in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, as Queen's Grant made off with a 17-1 win. Will Queen's Grant repeat their success, or does Monroe have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
