Worthington Christian is 8-2 against the Rams since February of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Worthington Christian Warriors will look to defend their home court against the Whitehall-Yearling Rams at 7:30 p.m. Worthington Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past five games -- so hopefully the Rams like a good challenge.
Last Saturday, everything came up roses for Worthington Christian on the road against the Lions as the team secured a 72-36 win. That 36 point margin sets a new team best for Worthington Christian this season.
Worthington Christian's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Samuel Johnson, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 11 rebounds. Johnson has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last 17 times he's played. Another player making a difference was Logan Woloshan, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and five assists.
Meanwhile, Whitehall-Yearling was able to grind out a solid victory over the Bobcats on Saturday, taking the game 58-48. The win was just what Whitehall-Yearling needed coming off of a 62-36 defeat in their prior contest.
Worthington Christian's win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-4. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.7 points per game. As for Whitehall-Yearling, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-13 record this season.
Worthington Christian beat the Rams 62-54 in their previous meeting back in January. Will Worthington Christian repeat their success, or do the Rams have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
