The biggest upset of the week belonged to Toms River North, who took down 45th ranked Southern Regional, 17-14.
Lacey Township was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from third to first in Shore - South A. The Lions vanquished Toms River East 42-14 earlier in the week.
Kyle Spatz was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 211 yards on 22 carries as Lacey Township beat the Raiders. Tutela also contributed to the rushing game with 36 yards on the ground.
Tutela was the best wideout in the league this week as Lou Vircillo's team bested Toms River East. Tutela tallied three receptions for 78 yards. Spatz helped Lacey Township's passing attack out by catching two balls for 11 yards.
Dan Higgins put up the best numbers through the air as the Rams lost to the Mariners. He finished with 10 completions for 126 yards. Higgins' favorite target this week was Mike Gesicki, who caught four passes for 69 yards.
Lacey Township's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Lions feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Tom Kelly has thrown for 459 yards and five touchdowns this season, while Bill Belford has seven catches for 196 yards. Spatz leads the league in rushing with 378 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Lions take on Toms River South. Lacey Township is in first place, while the Indians are in sixth place.
The Lions moved up to 62 from 135 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. A 42-14 win over Charlie Diskin's team helped Lacey Township improve its standing.
