SAVANNAH, Tenn. - After five lead changes,
Hardin County (Savannah, Tenn.) took the lead for good when they ran for a touchdown with 9:00 left in the fourth quarter and held on to upset
Adamsville (Tenn.) 35-25 on Saturday.
The Tigers led 14-7 at halftime, but the Cardinals regained the lead on a touchdown run by
Zak Neary with 6:00 remaining in the third.
By the end of the third, Hardin County found itself trailing by four points as Adamsville captured the lead thanks to three scores in the quarter. AHS scored on a
Jacob Wallis touchdown run, a touchdown run by Neary and a Neary touchdown pass to Wallis in the quarter.
The Cardinals came in allowing just 16.0 points per game this season.
The victory avenged Hardin County's close 10-9 loss to Adamsville last season.
The loss comes after Adamsville defeated Middleton 57-6 last week.
