The Carson Cougars's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They suffered a tough 47-27 defeat at the hands of Concord. Carson was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Concord apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January.
Concord found their leader in underclassman Myajah Nix, who scored 14 points along with 6 rebounds and 5 steals. That makes it two consecutive games in which Nix has scored at least 25% of Concord's points. Another player making a difference was Kaylin Williams, who scored 11 points along with 6 rebounds and 3 steals.
Carson has yet to win a match at home this season, leaving them with a 0-3 record. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 21.0 points per game. As for Concord, their win bumped their record up to 1-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Carson's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Robinson at 6:00 p.m. on December 5th. Concord will take on Mount Pleasant at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
