Centennial is a perfect 8-0 against West Mesa since March of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The Hawks will host the Mustangs at 12:00 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Last Saturday, Centennial got the win against Deming by a conclusive 17-2.
Jada Lopez was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Lopez was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two doubles and two RBI.

Meanwhile, West Mesa came tearing into Thursday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.7 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Knights 14-1. The result was nothing new for the Mustangs, who have now won three matchups by 13 runs or more so far this season.
Like Centennial, West Mesa also got a great game from a two-way player: Shyloh Aguilar. She tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Aguilar has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2025.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ellie Padilla, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and two stolen bases. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged two or more in each of the last six games she's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Mya Baca, who went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, three RBI, and one run.
Centennial's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for West Mesa, their victory bumped their record up to 4-1.
