Perquimans has gone 8-2 against Gates County recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Pirates will host the Red Barons at 6:00 p.m. Perquimans will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.

On Tuesday, Perquimans earned a 7-2 win over Currituck County.

Will Rucker and Maddux Thach made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Rucker didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over four innings pitched. Meanwhile, Thach pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Rucker has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. At the plate, Rucker went 3-for-4 with four RBI and one double, while Thach went 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Coley Drew, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI. Jacob Askew was another, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run.

Perquimans hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Currituck County struck out nine times.

Camden County hit Gates County with a six-run sixth inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Red Barons lost 8-2 to the Bruins. The Red Barons have struggled against the Bruins recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meeting.

Perquimans' victory was their tenth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-4. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.2 runs over those games. As for Gates County, their loss dropped their record down to 7-13.

Everything went Perquimans' way against Gates County when the teams last played on Monday, as Perquimans made off with an 11-1 victory. Will the Pirates repeat their success, or do the Red Barons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
