The St. Joseph-by-the-Sea Vikings will head out on the road to challenge the Xavier Knights at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with seven consecutive losses for St. Joseph-by-the-Sea and four for Xavier.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 67-39, which was the final score in St. Joseph-by-the-Sea's tilt against Fordham Prep on Monday. St. Joseph-by-the-Sea was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-22.
Meanwhile, Xavier came up short against St. Edmund Prep two weeks ago and fell 53-44.
St. Joseph-by-the-Sea's loss was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 1-7. As for Xavier, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.
St. Joseph-by-the-Sea strolled past Xavier when the teams last played back in February of 2023 by a score of 55-41. The rematch might be a little tougher for St. Joseph-by-the-Sea since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
