Oak Hill is 0-4 against Chapmanville Regional since May of 2018 but things could change on Tuesday. The Red Devils are taking a road trip to challenge the Tigers at 7:00 p.m. Oak Hill has given up an average of 10.1 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Oak Hill's last matchup with Capital could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's matchup on Monday. The Red Devils came up short against the Cougars, falling 14-7. While the Red Devils didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Cougars 4-0 in the first period.
Beau Elswick put in work no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out nine batters over 5.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and seven unearned) runs off six hits. Elswick was also big at the plate, going 1-for-5 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Landon Kilany and Owen Grose did some serious damage despite the final result: Kilany went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double, while Grose got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two RBI, one run, and one double. That run was Kilany's first of the season. Another player making a difference was Bronson McLain, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base.
Meanwhile, Chapmanville Regional fell victim to Winfield and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They lost 11-0 to the Generals.
Chapmanville Regional's defeat dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Oak Hill, their loss dropped their record down to 2-12.
Oak Hill suffered a grim 7-0 defeat to Chapmanville Regional in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. Can the Red Devils avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
