The Springdale Dynamos are taking a road trip to square off against the South Allegheny Gladiators at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
Springdale fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Brentwood last Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Spartans by a score of 8-7. The defeat continues a trend for the Dynamos in their meetings with the Spartans: they've now lost three in a row.
Gabriella Warner and Lilly Dettlinger were huge no matter where they played even without the win. On the mound, Warner struck out six batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and five unearned) runs off seven hits. Meanwhile, Dettlinger tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. At the plate, Warner went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double, while Dettlinger went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Sophie Lamia made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 3-for-5 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Maisie Stempfer was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.
South Allegheny not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since May 5, 2025 (when they won 15-0). They were the clear victors by a 13-7 margin over Apollo Ridge. The Gladiators haven't had any issues with the Vikings recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
Jordyn Stetor was a standout: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. That triple was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Cadence McBride, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple.
The victory was their first at home, bumping their record up to 2-4. As for Springdale, their record is now 1-1.
Springdale suffered a grim 16-0 defeat to South Allegheny when the teams last played back in April of 2025. Can the Dynamos avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
