Apex Friendship hasn't had much luck against D.H. Conley recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Apex Friendship Patriots will challenge the D.H. Conley Vikings at 6:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Apex Friendship took a seven-run loss the last time they faced off against Garner, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Apex Friendship won by a run and slipped past Garner 10-9. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Apex Friendship let Cheyenne Christman and Kaylee Marquis run wild. Christman went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI, while Marquis scored two runs while going 3-for-5. That's the most hits Christman has posted since back in April of 2024. India Matute was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-5.
Meanwhile, D.H. Conley was able to grind out a solid win over Richlands on Thursday, taking the game 4-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Vikings.
Kendall Howard made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.
In other batting news, Ava Gaddis was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. Harper Bradley also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.
Apex Friendship now has a winning record of 2-1. As for D.H. Conley, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.
D.H. Conley's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Apex Friendship has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .477. It's a different story for D.H. Conley, though, as they've only averaged .268. Will they be able to contain Apex Friendship's hitters?
Apex Friendship came up short against D.H. Conley when the teams last played back in May of 2024, falling 8-5. Can Apex Friendship avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
