Despite the defeat, Dorchester saw an underclassman step up: freshman Thor Nerud went 6 of 13 on his way to 20 points and six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Nerud has scored all season.
Even though they lost, Dorchester was working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in January of 2024.
Meanwhile, 2025 welcomed Heartland Lutheran with a 75-49 loss courtesy of Ansley/Litchfield on Friday.
Despite the loss, Heartland Lutheran saw an underclassman step up: freshman Luke Olson dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Vance Smith, who posted ten points.
Dorchester's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Heartland Lutheran, their loss dropped their record down to 1-7.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Dorchester has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 24.1 boards per game. However, it's not like Heartland Lutheran struggles in that department as they've been averaging 33.8 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
