North Clay/Clay City were the 48-24 winner over the Casey-Westfield Warriors when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. North Clay/Clay City fell 58-46 to Casey-Westfield on Monday.
Despite the loss, North Clay/Clay City still got an impressive performance from Matia Price, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Those four steals set a new season-high mark for her. Alexis VanDyke was another key contributor, scoring six points along with four steals.
North Clay/Clay City has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season. As for Casey-Westfield, they pushed their record up to 8-5 with that victory, which was their fifth straight at home.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North Clay/Clay City won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Fairfield at 6:00 p.m. on December 19th. As for Casey-Westfield, they have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Arcola at 4:00 p.m. on December 26th.
