G Motley made a big impact no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 11 over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with two runs and two RBI.
In other batting news, L Yates was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. T Rushing was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.
Meanwhile, Baker wound up with the same score they had in their last game (7-2), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time. The matchup marked their lowest-scoring contest so far this season.
Justice Baldwin made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases and one run.
Ponce De Leon's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-8. As for Baker, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-5.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Ponce De Leon has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.9 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Baker struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.9 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
