AISA AAA Region 2 recap September 24, 2013
Adding to the longest winning streak in AISA AAA Region 2 this week, Monroe Academy beat Bessemer Academy 49-13,. The win marks fourth in a row for the the Volunteers.
Hooper Academy moved up to 274 from 340 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Colts climbed the ranks as a result of beating Macon-East Montgomery Academy 41-32.
Morgan Academy's offense cannot be tamed this season and the Senators feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Harrison Adams has thrown for 671 yards and 8 touchdowns this season, while Harrison Watters has 20 catches for 339 yards.
The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Monroe Academy takes on second place Fort Dale Academy. Last week, Monroe Academy defeated the Rebels, while Fort Dale Academy topped Autauga Academy.
The Volunteers were able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after besting Bessemer Academy. Monroe Academy came in at 22 in the state poll after placing at number 36 last week.
