The Hampshire Trojans will head out on the road to face off against the Tucker County Mountain Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
Hampshire fell victim to Washington's stalwart defense two weeks ago and couldn't make it onto the board. They were beaten by the Patriots 38-0. Having soared to a lofty 76 points in the game before, Hampshire couldn't push the score so high this time.
Meanwhile, Tucker County is still undefeated this season after their contest against Petersburg on Friday, but Petersburg came as close as anyone has to beating them. Tucker County sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 30-27 victory over Petersburg.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Tucker County to victory, but perhaps none more so than Maddox Anderson, who picked up 97 receiving yards and a touchdown. Anderson was no stranger to the big play, cutting upfield for a catch that went for 62 yards. Tucker County also got a significant boost from Jared Reall, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 108 yards.
Another reason for the win was Tucker County's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. In fact, those sacks all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Owen Knotts.
Hampshire's loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 3-6. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 5.3 points per game. As for Tucker County, their win bumped their record up to 9-0.
