Softball Recap: West Stanly Has No Trouble Against Cherryville

West Stanly never let their opponents score on Monday. They put the hurt on the Cherryville Ironmen with a sharp 15-0 victory. Considering the Colts have won 11 games by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

West Stanly let Jenna Brock and Laney Tucker run wild. Brock went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles, while Tucker got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI Brock has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Kennedy Austin, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs and one RBI.

West Stanly was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .471. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cherryville only posted a batting average of .000.

The win made it two in a row for West Stanly and bumps their season record up to 18-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Cherryville, they moved to 13-6 with that loss, which also ended their six-game winning streak.

West Stanly didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 6-5 win against North Brunswick on the 22nd. As for Cherryville, they have also already played their next contest, a 12-7 defeat against Whiteville on the 22nd.
