Softball Recap: West Stanly Wins Going Away Against Cherryville

While West Stanly put up plenty of runs on Monday, the same can't be said for Cherryville. The Colts blew past the Ironmen 15-0. The Colts might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 matchups by seven runs or more this season.

West Stanly let Jenna Brock and Laney Tucker run wild. Brock went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles, while Tucker got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI Brock has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Kennedy Austin, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs and one RBI.

West Stanly always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .655. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive games.

West Stanly's record now sits at 18-3. As for Cherryville, they moved to 13-6 with that loss, which also ended their six-game winning streak.

West Stanly does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Cherryville, they will be taking part in a tournament against Whiteville at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday.
