The Wabash Apaches's three-game losing streak came to an end on Saturday. They came out on top against North Miami by a score of 56-47. Winning is a bit easier when you make five more threes than your opponent, as Wabash did.
Wabash's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kaitlynn Honeycutt led the charge by scoring 15 points along with five rebounds and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Kierra Wilson, who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and two blocks.
North Miami's loss came despite strong showings from Kaiden Hanley and Laney Musall. Hanley scored 19 points along with nine steals and eight rebounds, while Musall scored 16 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Hanley is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Kayden Donaldson, who scored seven points along with eight rebounds.
Wabash's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 10-11. As for North Miami, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-11 record this season.
Wabash the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Taylor at 7:00 p.m. on January 24th. Taylor is hoping to put an end to an eight-game streak of away losses. As for North Miami, they will head out on the road to challenge Northwestern at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Northwestern is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak.
