Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Dinuba). They were the clear victors by a 15-4 margin over the Mt. Whitney Pioneers on Thursday. Winning may never get old, but the Emperors sure are getting used to it with their eighth in a row.
Neveah Garcia was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances. She also hit a double, marking her first of the season.
In other batting news, Olivia Patterson was incredible, firing off three home runs, six RBI, and four runs while going 4-for-4. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Kiley Gomez was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.
Dinuba kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in five consecutive contests.
