The Port Isabel Tarpons can now show off six landslide victories after their most recent match on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Rio Hondo with a sharp 7-1 victory. The win was familiar territory for Port Isabel who now have three in a row.
They hit Rio Hondo with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from
Joaquin Leon Pena (2),
Dominic Acosta (2),
Anthony Garcia (2), and
Daniel Childress.
Port Isabel is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4-1 record this season. As for Rio Hondo, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Port Isabel will take on IDEA Sports Park at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. IDEA Sports Park's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end. As for Rio Hondo, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Jubilee Brownsville at 7:00 p.m. on February 9th.
