Goode STEM Academy had lost five straight on the road, but  on Saturday they dropped their record down to 3-9 to make it six. They lost  12-2 to the Solorio Sun Warriors. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Sun Warriors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup  14-0  on Saturday.
As for Solorio, they have  been performing  well recently as they've  won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-5 record  this season. The  wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games.
For Solorio's part,  Natalie Pacheco made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she  struck out eight batters over  3.2 innings while giving up  three earned runs off   four  hits (and not a single walk). Pacheco has been consistent: she hasn't  tossed less than six  strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box,  going 1-for-2 with one  home run, three  RBI,  and two  runs.
 In other batting news,  Melanie Martinez and  Anahi Valladares did most of the damage at the plate:  Martinez  went a perfect 2-for-2 with two  stolen bases, two  runs,  and two  RBI, while  Valladares  went a perfect 2-for-2 with two  doubles, one  stolen base,  and two  RBI. Martinez has been hot recently, having  posted  at least one  stolen base the last four times she's  played.  Fatima Hernandez was another key player,  going 1-for-2 with two  runs, one  stolen base,  and one  RBI.
