The Washington Pam Pack entered their game against the SouthWest Edgecombe Cougars on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. Washington took a serious blow against SouthWest Edgecombe, falling 47-10. While losing is never fun, Washington can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 322nd, while SouthWest Edgecombe is ranked 124th).
Jhakari Lovely had an outrageously good game for SouthWest Edgecombe as he rushed for 179 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 carries. Lovely was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 50 yards. Another player making a difference was Jalen Willoughby, who rushed for 85 yards and three touchdowns.
Washington's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for SouthWest Edgecombe, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-2.
