The Ellington Knights will face off against the Enfield Eagles at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Ellington comes in on five and Enfield on three.
Enfield's hitters are going to have their work cut out for them on Saturday: Ellington hadn't allowed a single run the last four times they've hit the field. The Knights never let South Windsor get on the board and left with a 5-0 win on Tuesday.
South Windsor's batters probably weren't too happy with Camryn Fisher, who pitched a no hitter and racked up 19 Ks (she gave up zero walks). Fisher has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two hits any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Tyla Gambacorta, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to hits, as she's now got three or more in each of the last five games she's played. Madison Havener was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.
Ellington hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least three batters in three consecutive contests.
Fans were treated to a battle of the Eagles on Thursday. Enfield blew past East Catholic 17-3. Considering Enfield has won nine matches by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Payten Stebbins made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out 11 batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. Stebbins was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with two runs and one RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April.
In other batting news, Paige Cekala was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Emily Lyver, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three stolen bases and three runs.
Ellington's victory was their 16th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-2. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.9 runs over those games. As for Enfield, their victory bumped their record up to 12-3.
Saturday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Ellington has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .477. However, it's not like Enfield struggles in that department as they've averaged .450. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Ellington beat Enfield 5-0 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Will the Knights repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
