Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lakeview). They took down the Caledonia Fighting Scots 73-56 on Tuesday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Spartans as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Despite the loss, Caledonia saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Jarell Jefferson went 5 for 10 on his way to 17 points. Jefferson continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Parker Little, who went 6 of 10 en route to 16 points.
Lakeview's win bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Caledonia, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-6.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lakeview will face off against Portage Central at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Caledonia, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Jenison at 7:00 p.m.
