Red Mountain is a perfect 10-0 against Mesa since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Mountain Lions will welcome the Jackrabbits at 4:00 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their matches after big wins in their previous games.
Red Mountain will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one run on Friday, then bounced right back against Dobson on Monday. The Mountain Lions were the clear victors by a 20-2 margin over the Mustangs. The result was nothing new for the Mountain Lions, who have now won nine games by nine runs or more so far this season.
Saige Peters was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those RBI were her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Payton Westra, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and two RBI.
Red Mountain always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .906. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Mesa never got on the board in their matchup on Tuesday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Dobson last Thursday. They put the hurt on the Mustangs with a sharp 26-13 victory. The Jackrabbits not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since March 6th.
The team relied heavily on Brooklyn Isom, who scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in all six of her plate appearances. Leah Alcala was another key player, going 2-for-5 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple.

Mesa's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Red Mountain has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10.1 hits per game. It's a different story for Mesa, though, as they've been averaging 12.6 hits. Given Red Mountain's sizable advantage in that area, the Jackrabbits will need to find a way to close that gap.
Red Mountain took their win against Mesa in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 25-0 score. Will the Mountain Lions repeat their success, or do the Jackrabbits have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
