Ramsay is 0-5 against Jasper since January of 2023 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Ramsay Rams are on the road again and plays the Jasper Vikings at 5:00 p.m. on February 7th. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Thursday, Ramsay didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Huffman, but they still walked away with a 47-42 win. The win was all the more spectacular given Ramsay's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 87th, while Huffman is ranked 19th).
Meanwhile, Jasper came tearing into Monday's matchup with 15 straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 28.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Hayden 76-16 at home. Jasper has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 14 matchups by 23 points or more this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Jasper to victory, but perhaps none more so than Mia Hollingsworth, who scored 13 points along with three steals. Hollingsworth is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 13 games she's played. Another player making a difference was Missy Odom, who scored 14 points.
Ramsay now has a winning record of 14-13. As for Jasper, their victory was their tenth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 25-4.
Ramsay lost to Jasper on the road by a decisive 42-27 margin in their previous meeting last Saturday. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Odom, who scored 20 points along with two steals and two blocks.
