On Saturday, Lamar was able to grind out a solid win over Choctaw County, taking the game 58-49.
Aryah Grace was her usual excellent self, scoring 29 points. That makes it nine consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of Lamar's points. Another player making a difference was Charlee Castle, who scored 12 points.
Lamar's victory bumped their record up to 6-8. As for Choctaw County, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lamar will be home for the holidays to greet Starkville Academy at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Mississippi (Starkville Academy is ranked 71st, while Lamar is ranked 89th). Choctaw County will be home for the holidays to greet Aberdeen at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Aberdeen is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
