Widefield's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Olivia McEwen, who posted ten points. The dominant performance gave McEwen a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lilly Solano, who put up eight points and five assists.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Canon City to victory, but perhaps none more so than Alexi Till, who had 12 points and eight rebounds. Till is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last 11 games she's played. Kristyn Barnes was another key player, putting up 18 points.
Widefield's loss dropped their record down to 13-8. As for Canon City, they pushed their record up to 16-5 with the victory, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Mesa Ridge has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Canon City, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against The Classical Academy at 7:00 p.m. The Classical Academy will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Canon City surely won't give up without a fight.
