The Charleston Trojans will take on the St. Teresa Bulldogs at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Charleston has three straight wins, St. Teresa has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
If Charleston beats St. Teresa with eight runs on Tuesday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two contests with that exact score. The Trojans' pitcher stepped up to hand Centennial an 8-0 shutout on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Trojans, who have now won four games by eight runs or more so far this season.

Not much got past Railyn Cox, who gave up just three hits and racked up 13 Ks to keep Centennial off the board. Cox has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Lainie Keefer and Avery Beals did most of the damage at the plate: Keefer went 2-for-5 with one home run, four RBI, and one stolen base, while Beals scored two runs and stole two bases while going 4-for-4. That's the most hits Beals has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Blair Ritchey, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one triple.
They weren't the only one making solid contact: Charleston kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Centennial only managed three hits.
Meanwhile, St. Teresa came up short against Maroa-Forsyth on Monday, falling 8-1.
St. Teresa saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jalie Eller, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
Charleston's victory bumped their record up to 8-3. As for St. Teresa, their loss dropped their record down to 6-9.
Everything went Charleston's way against St. Teresa in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Charleston made off with a 7-1 win. Do the Trojans have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bulldogs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
