Lexi Johnson was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 13 over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 21 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Brooke Perriera was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since May 6th. Caitlin Allen also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
Meanwhile, Argos made easy work of Elkhart Christian Academy on Tuesday and carried off a 7-0 win.
The result came thanks to Ivy Stackhouse's shutout, as she gave up just three hits and racked up 16 Ks.
On the hitting side, Adelyn Lewark and Ava Stackhouse did most of the damage at the plate: Lewark went 2-for-3 with three runs and one double, while Ava went 3-for-4 with three RBI and one run.
South Central's record is now 18-6-1. As for Argos, their record now sits at 9-11.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Saturday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. South Central has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 11.8 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Argos struggles in that department as they've been averaging 9 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Everything went South Central's way against Argos in their previous meeting back in May of 2022, as South Central made off with a 16-0 victory. Will the Satellites repeat their success, or do the Dragons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
