St. Wendelin was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from 36th to 24th in Freelance. The Mohawks vanquished Fort Wayne Crusaders 52-0 earlier in the week.
St. Edward extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating St. Ignatius, 20-13. The win marks 10th in a row for the the Eagles.
Jeremy Quinlan threw for 196 yards and four touchdowns. He was 10-16 with zero interceptions.
Jacob Walker was the best wideout in the league this week as Fairfield Christian Academy bested Grove City Christian. Walker racked up three receptions for 69 yards. Taylor Kopp helped Fairfield Christian Academy's passing attack out by catching four balls for 64 yards.
Ben Tobin was the most productive running back in Freelance this week. In 44 carries, he ran for 419 yards as the Knights defeated the Eagles. Teammate Collin Young added to the ground attack by rushing for 92 yards.
Fairfield Christian Academy's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Knights feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Young has thrown for 1084 yards and 16 touchdowns this season, while Walker has 16 catches for 500 yards. Tobin leads the league in rushing with 2802 yards.
The marquee game in the league this week will be the clash between the Wildcats and Austintown-Fitch. St. Ignatius enters the game ranked second in the state, while the Falcons ranks 16th.
Two highly touted recruits will be in the spotlight when Charles Kyle's team and Austintown-Fitch meet this week. The Wildcats features well-regarded junior Jimmy Byrne while the Falcons has Billy Price, a sought after senior.
Northwest moved up to 362 from 411 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Indians climbed the ranks as a result of defeating Barberton 45-7.
