The Medina Christian Academy Knights will head out on the road to face off against the Brooklyn Hurricanes at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Medina Christian Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matches -- so hopefully the Hurricanes like a good challenge.
Medina Christian Academy pushed their score all the way to 55 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of Mentor Christian by a score of 57-55. Medina Christian Academy has not had much luck with the recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Despite their defeat, Medina Christian Academy saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Conwill, who scored 22 points along with two steals, was perhaps the best of all. That was a full 40% of Medina Christian Academy's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Adriana Smith, who scored 18 points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Brooklyn had to suffer through a rough 59-28 loss at the hands of the Longhorns.
Dyson put forth a good effort for the losing side as she scored 20 points along with six rebounds and three steals. She hasn't dropped below two steals for 11 straight games. Another player making a difference was Alice Pham, who scored four points.
Medina Christian Academy's record is now 7-7. Brooklyn's record is now 3-14.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Medina Christian Academy have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 31.9 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Brooklyn struggles in that department as they've been averaging 27.9 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
