The Calvert Cavaliers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fourth straight loss. They fell to La Plata 54-48. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Calvert in their matchups with La Plata: they've now lost four in a row.
McKinley Harrold was the offensive standout of the game as he scored 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cameron Harrold, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and four blocks.
Calvert bumped their record down to 1-4 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for La Plata, the win got them back to even at 1-1.
Calvert will be home for the holidays to greet Patuxent at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Maryland (Patuxent is ranked 160th, while Calvert is ranked 159th). As for La Plata, they will head out on the road to face off against Crossland at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Crossland is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
