Loyd Star found their leader in underclassman Jordyn Kees, who rushed for 280 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.2 yards per carry. Kees is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last eight games he's played.
Loyd Star's defensive line stepped up as well, laying out the QB three times. Leading the way was Brandon Burt and his two sacks.
Loyd Star's victory was their eighth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 9-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 35.9 points per game. As for Franklin County, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season.
Loyd Star will look to defend their home field on November 3rd against Lake at 7:00 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Mississippi (Lake is ranked 176th, while Loyd Star is ranked 178th). As for Franklin County, they will head out on the road to face off against Kemper County at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd. Kemper County knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past five matchups -- so hopefully Franklin County likes a good challenge.
