After flying high against Hayden  on Friday, West Grand came back down to earth. The Mustangs fell just short of the Caprock Academy Eagles by a score of  3-2 on Saturday. The Mustangs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their  defeat the last time these teams played  back in November of 2024.
 West Grand actually scored more points across those five sets (101-100), but sadly they still had to settle for second. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 18-25, 25-15, 17-25, 25-23,  15-13.
 West Grand lost  despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was   Jadyn Castillo, who  had 11  digs and one assist.
 Caprock Academy found their leader in freshman  Tiara Gonzalez Cardenas, who  had seven  assists and six  digs.
West Grand's loss dropped their record down to 14-7. As for Caprock Academy, they pushed their record up to 14-5 with the  victory, which was their sixth straight  at home.
As of now, neither West Grand nor the Eagles have any future games scheduled.
