The Evergreen Lutheran Eagles will head out on the road to square off against the Crosspoint Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Evergreen Lutheran sitting on five straight victories and the Warriors on ten.
Last Tuesday, Evergreen Lutheran beat the Falcons 39-28.
Meanwhile, Crosspoint had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They simply couldn't be stopped on Monday as they easily beat Pope John Paul II 69-18 at home. Crosspoint has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 17 contests by 26 points or more this season.
Crosspoint's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Momoyo Iwata, who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds and five steals. Iwata continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaylee Ajanovic, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Evergreen Lutheran pushed their record up to 13-2 with that win, which was their third straight on the road. As for Crosspoint, their victory bumped their record up to 19-2.
Evergreen Lutheran was taken down by the Warriors 62-19 in their previous matchup back in January. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Iwata, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds. Now that Evergreen Lutheran knows the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
